ABIRAM

Whether in music, theatre, or film, my work is guided by a belief that the arts hold unparalleled potential to transform lives and strengthen communities. My career began as an award-winning music composer and orchestra conductor, where I told stories through melody and harmony, discovering the profound ways that creative expression connects us to one another. Over time, my path evolved beyond the stage and studio, leading me to dedicate my life to creating opportunities for others to share their own stories.

Today, I have the privilege of serving as Chief Executive Officer of The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, an organization I deeply admire for its commitment to empowering Los Angeles' youth voices through the development of original and collaborative theatre. Together with our incredible team, I help create spaces where individuals—many of whom have been silenced or overlooked—can find their voice and bring their stories to life. These moments of creativity and courage remind me every day why this work matters.

Beyond my role at The Unusual Suspects, I am also a Founding Partner and Head of the Artist Incubator at Antigravity Academy, a creative home for emerging artists across mediums founded by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Carlos López Estrada. At Antigravity Academy, my work focuses on mentoring and supporting the next generation of artists, connecting them with the industry professionals, resources, collaborations, and platforms necessary to propel their ideas forward. Building an incubator for creativity alongside such a visionary partner has been an extraordinary opportunity to expand the boundaries of what's possible in the arts.

Before stepping into these leadership roles, I honed my skills in nonprofit arts administration as Director of Artist Community at the Sundance Institute. Supporting thousands of independent artists taught me that art is not simply a tool for personal expression; it is a catalyst for equity, understanding, and social change. Those experiences continue to shape my belief that every story—no matter how marginalized—deserves to be heard.

Throughout my career, I’ve come to view the arts as a mirror reflecting the complexities of our shared humanity. Through storytelling, whether in music, theater, or film, we see ourselves more clearly and connect with one another on a deeper level. My mission is to amplify those stories, creating spaces where diverse voices can flourish and remind us of what binds us together.

I approach this work with humility but also a deep sense of purpose. I know firsthand how storytelling can bridge divides and foster empathy, and I believe fervently in its ability to spark meaningful change. Whether I’m working in the theater, supporting young artists, or advocating for greater access to creative opportunities, I am driven by one guiding principle: we build a better world when every voice is valued and every story is given the space to resonate. Through the arts, that vision becomes not just possible but inevitable.
